Kashmir: Gulmarg, Pahalgam Receive Light Snowfall

The famous twin resorts of Kashmir Valley Gulmarg and Pahalgam received light snowfall during the night that marked a certain improvement in the temperature.
“Gulmarg-the famous international ski-resort recorded a low of minus 9 degree Celsius, which is 3 degree colder than the previous night, while as some tourist destinations in south Kashmir registered a low of minus 3.4 degree Celsius compared to minus 2.5 degrees Celsius on the previous night,” said an official at MET department.
Meanwhile Kashmir is currently under the grip of 40-day harshest period of winter, “Chillai Kalan” in which the chances of snowfall are higher and the temperature drops considerably.
