Srinagar: In a major development as many as 21 legislatures of People’s Democratic Party met the party president Mehbooba Mufti and assured her full support.

The Legislatures met the party president at her Gupkar residence individually and discussed the prevailing political crisis in party and the way forward.

Well placed sources told The Legitimate that the legislatures assured Mehbooba Mufti that they will never indulge in any horse trading.

Mehbooba called the meeting of legislatures following the outcry of some of party legislatures last week accusing party president of keeping the party affairs family centric and threatened to leave the party.

“21 Legislatures today met the party president and pledged their allegiance to her. However, Abid Ansari and Imran Ansari did not turn up,” said one of the party leaders who was also present on the occasion.

To mention here, Abid Ansari was the first legislature who raised the queries against the party and its president accusing it of being unfair to the workers and its senior leaders.

Imran Ansari who was also the minister in Mehbooba government fully backed the allegations against the party leveled by her uncle, Abid Ansari.

While Abdul Haq Khan, Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Haseeb Drabu, Shah Mohammad Tantry and Javid Baig for personal reasons could not turn up to meet the party president, sources said that all of them spoke over phone to him and assured her full support.

“The party legislatures in fact told madam ji that they will keep their resignations submitted if she doesn’t trust them. And she can send to the governor in case of any horse trading by any legislature. However, she posed the complete faith in her legislatures and said that it is not needed,” said the sources.

Meanwhile Imran Ansari while speaking to local news gathering agency said that he will not rejoin the party.
