Protests Rock Kashmir Colleges Against Pulwama Incident

Srinagar: The clashes broke out at various colleges in Kashmir valley today against the security forces action against the students of Pulwama College on Saturday. Hundreds of students from the SP College Srinagar today staged the protests and attempted to march towards city Centre Lal Chowk. The forces, deployed in thick presence thwart the march and fired numerous tear smoke shells to disperse them. Scores of students and a police officer was injured in the clashes.

The students of Amar Singh College, Srinagar also protested against the Pulwama college incident and demanded the thorough probe into it.

 In Sopore and Bandipora, the clashes between the students and security forces were reported who protested against the incident of Pulwama College.

 Earlier on Saturday scores of students in Pulwama College were injured after clashes broke out between the protesters and security forces. The students alleged that the forces entered into the premises of college and fired tear smoke shells and pellets on students. The allegations were denied by the police and said that the clashes broke out outside college.

“We didn’t enter into the college. At some 200 meters away from college some youth clashed with the security forces,” the police statement read.
