Pak Army Chief Confirms Death Sentences Of PIA Plane Shooter, 8 Others

Islamabad: Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday confirmed death sentences of nine “hardcore terrorists”, including those who fired at a PIA plane landing at Peshawar Airport in 2014, reports said.

The firing on a PIA flight was resulted in death of a lady, besides injuries to two other passengers.

Quoting a statement released by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Dawn reported the death sentences were handed to those who were involved in “heinous offences” related to terrorism including, killing of innocent civilians, slaughtering of levies officials and attacking armed forces personnel.

These convicts were tried by military courts.
