Kupwara, 02 Nov: Although as per Right to Information RTI guidelines, the responded must reply within a one month period of submission of application under RTI Act 2009 but it seemed that indifferent approach of Xen R&B Kupwara division towards RTI Act has made it to put the RTI plea on the back burner.
One Wasim Mir a local RTI activists filed a RTI Plea to R&B department Kupwara division to seek information about Expenditure of funds, Showing the notification of tenders, amount released, etc. in Kupwara from 2016 till date in Kupwara, details of funds utilized and quotations thereof and details of vouchers.
“But the concerned Xen R&B Kupwara Gurdev Singh, has failed to provide information within time period, said RTI activist, adding, “The delay itself indicates that there is something wrong in the R&B Department Kupwara division about tenders.”
The RTI activist has appealed Governor of J&K State “Satya Pal Malik” to intervene in the matter and demanded strict action against Xen R&B department division Kupwara for not providing information under RTI act 2009.
