3 mins read

How was your childhood like?

My Childhood was very beautiful and I was brought up with lot of care. I did my early schooling from my native village public school namely “Nawab Jassi Khan” public school then studied in a Government high school. After passing Matric examination I went to girls inter college “Mong” and then I did my graduation from Girls degree college Palandri.

Tell us a bit about your academic life?

My academic was lot colorful as I was quite active student.  I have done my LLB from federal university of arts science and technology and LLM from Islamic international university. I was always interested in law and politics.

What are the electoral prospects of JKPP?

Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party was founded on 19th of July 1990 by the Bani-e-Kashmir (father and founder) of Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. It is a Kashmiri Political Party currently being headed by Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan. It is crystal clear that no Government can be established without JKPP in upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir and the ground realities also validate this fact.

How do you manage both law and politics as your fields?

All this has been in my upbringing to serve the helpless people, so law and politics both are giving me great opportunities to serve the people on large scale in a satisfactory manner.

Pakistan Administered Politics is said to be dominated by uneducated faces, your take?

This has not always been true that AJK polity has been occupied by uneducated people, our founder president of AJK Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was Bar at Law way back in 1947 and he has done a remarkable job to establish institutions of excellence in AJK. I agree that with the passage of time non political people accidentally joined the politics and derailed the system of state and the impression about polity was hurt but it can be improved through democratic transition of one government to another. Democracy is only option for progressive Pakistan.

Gilgit Baltistan is angry with Pakistan Administered Kashmir setup .What is your view on this?

This is a fact that Gilgit-Baltistan anger exists but at the same time if we analyze honestly soon after 1947 people of GB did not participate in the public rights movements, but AJK people have a long lasting history for struggle for public rights, now they are demanding their public rights and nobody can stop them to take their public rights.

As far as I am concerned I think Gilgit- Baltistan people want to become fully integrated part of Pakistan through constitutional amendment and achieve statehood. In this regard, we have a very clear stand that  GB is a part of Kashmir and according to Karachi agreement and constitution of Pakistan’s article 257 no amendment is possible unless or until UN resolutions cannot be implemented. We also claimed that we are 1st Pakistani then Kashmiri according to 19th July resolution which were passed by our leadership at  Sirinagar, Abi Guzar.

What is your take on Kashmir issue?

Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947 and we were Pakistani by choice on 19th July 1947, so we just want that all Kashmir should be part of Pakistan but not cut into pieces and divide the whole state.

We want accession of entire disputed state with Pakistan very clearly and there is not even iota of doubt but this accession should be on our own choice through self determination of every Kashmiri in a peaceful manner and both India and Pakistan should accept the right of self determination. Pakistan has already expressed urge to implement the plebiscite in all over Kashmir under UN observation.

Don’t you feel the successive governments of Pakistan have failed their masses?

Our destiny lies with the state of Pakistan, the state which was Muhammad Ali Jinnah handed over to us which was a great and democratic Pakistan where no discrimination should happen on basis of religion, caste and color. Where in everyone is free to live their own life. We too have had some reservation with system which has been run by the Pakistani governments. But we can never mistrust on Jinnah’s Pakistan, I would also like to add that we love Pakistan but we can never surrender the dignity of Kashmir and Kashmiris.

What is the thrust of your party?

Our election slogan is” Waqar , Ikhtyar or ” Iqtaidar”. We want honour, effective governance and rights over resources for our people.

Your role-model ?

My role model is quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Ghazi e Millat (“Hero of the Nation”), Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and my female role model is former prime minister of Pakistan martyr Benazir Bhutto.
