Srinagar: Two civilians sustained injuries in a grenade explosion at Habbak area of Srinagar outskirts on Wednesday. The injuries were however, minor in nature.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a massive search operation as launched soon after the attack in entire area to nab the attackers. Today’s explosion was seventh in Srinagar and ninth in Kashmir since Jammu and Kashmir’s special status was scrapped on August 5.

Today’s attack comes barely four days after the grenade attack at Kawdara in which a teenager was injured and two private vehicles damaged.

CRPF spokesman in Srinagar Pankaj Singh said that suspected militants lobbed a grenade at Habbak area of Srinagar outskirts that exploded away from the deployment of central reserve police force (CRPF).

“No damaged was caused to security forces. Two civilians sustained minor injuries,” Singh said. Soon after the attack, entire area to nab the attackers.

There has been a little spurt in the grenade explosions in Kashmir since abrogation of Article 370. “These attacks are aimed at terrorizing people. We are working on track down the module behind grenade attacks,” a senior police officer said.
