Baramulla: In a bid to imbibe the culture of co-curricular activities among the youth, the Syed Baha-ud-din Memorial T-1O tournament was kick started today at Kanispora Cricket Ground in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The first ever Cosco Ball cricket tournament will attract the participation of over 16 teams from the district. In the inaugural match on Saturday Shahi Hamdan Kanispora beat KCC Kanispora with four wickets.

The match attracted the huge gathering of students and local spectators who despite the scorching heat kept the game alive with shouting and support to their respective teams.

The students of the Syed Baha ud Din memorial school volunteered themselves for the arrangements of the match and resolved to continue the same until its final game is played.

“I have two motives to organize this tournament. I want my students to develop the culture in which they can take the lead roles in their life besides being good in studies; secondly I want also to mix some fun in their life in addition of the serious exercise of studies,” said chief organizer of the tournament Shaheen Ahmad Lone.

Lone claims that this is first ever such tournament organized in the town with some unique rules where not only players but equally spectators enjoy.

He vows to continue with such co-curricular activities for the local youth and especially for the students of his school.
