Srinagar, July 25: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday strongly condemned the Suicide bomb attack in the south-western Pakistani city of Quetta, saying that those involved in the “barbaric attack” are “beastly enemies of the entire humanity”.

Condemning the terror attack in which over 30 people were killed and scores of others injured, Geelani in a statement issued to GNS said, “It is a well-thought-out conspiracy to defame and malign this country. Pakistan faces multiple problems. The attack is a result of the deep conspiracy against Pakistan.”

Demanding exemplary punishment for killers, Geelani said that “we wish to see a stable and prosperous Pakistan”. He in his appeal to all religious and political parties asked to join hands against “these unscrupulous elements” and work jointly for the welfare of Pakistan and its people.

“We feel pain and all our sympathies are with grieved families and people of Pakistan,” Hurriyat (G) chairman said, adding, “Terrorism in every form and place is condemnable and no religion, particularly Islam, has any place for actions like these. The people involved in this attack can never be the well-wishers of humanity.”

Meanwhile, paying glorious tributes to slain youth Molvi Bashir Ahmad and Abid Hussain in a gunfight in Anantnag, Geelani said that “they bravely and willingly offer their today for our tomorrow”.

“Youth are on the forefront of the movement and laying their precious lives,” he said and blamed Indian authorities for political uncertainty in the state. “Their stubborn attitude is the root cause of appalling situations and continued bloodshed in the state .”

Geelani justified the resentment of youth in Kashmir and said: “our youth were taking up arms to put an end to slavery and this barbarity”.

“The insensitivity and unconcern of authorities in New Delhi is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed. Youth have no option but to resent this age-old slavery and take arms to defend their rights,” he said, adding, “They are putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honour these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.”

Extending condolences to the bereaved families, Geelani said, “We share the grief and pray for the strength to the grieved families to bear the irreparable loss.”

Geelani also expressed deep grief over the demise of the veteran educationist and “staunch follower of the freedom movement” Prof Mohamad Altaf Malik of Sopore.

Hailing his contribution for education and Kashmir “freedom movement”, Geelani expressed heartfelt condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family of late professor and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. (GNS)
