Army Pays Tribute To Its Slain Soldiers

Srinagar: Army on Saturday paid tributes to two soldiers who were killed in Pakistani firing on Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

On behalf of the Chinar Corps Commander, Maj Gen GS Kahlon, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps and all ranks, paid homage to the slain soldiers, in a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, said a spokesman in a statement issued to KNO.

In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also paid their respects to the slain. The two (Army officers both rank of JCOs) Subedar Gamar Bahadur Thapa (42) and Subedar Raman Thapa (39) sustained bullet injuries during unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Keran sector of Kupwara district,” said the spokesman. “They were provided immediate first aid and were evacuated to 92 Base Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries,” he said.(KNO)
