Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2018 Observed In Kashmir

Kashmir:- Jammu and Kashmir Police today celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, across all districts of Kashmir Valley.

Jammu & Kashmir Police organized events “Run for Unity” across the Kashmir Valley in which Police Personnels and respectable citizens of Kashmir valley participated and took pledge to protect the unity and integrity of state.

In Anantnag, the event “Run for Unity” was flagged off by DySP DAR Anantnag, SDPO Bijbehara, SHO Bijbehara and DO Police Post Sangam in which a large number of youth from different parts of District Anantnag participated. The marathon started from Jablipora and culminated at Sangam crossing.

Tariq Hussain khan secured the 1st prize in the marathon while Rizwan Ahmad, Zakir Hussain and Raqeeb Ahmad secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.

In Kulgam, the event “Run for Unity” was organized which started from DPL Kulgam and ended at Sangus Crossing in which a number of students and people from different walks of life participated.

Besides a March Past was also held in which students from different schools of District Kulgam and contingents from CRPF, District Police and Home-guard participated.

The participants were carrying banners conveying the message of unity, integrity and upholding of security as envisioned by the legendary leader.

On this occasion floral tribute was also offered to Police martyrs. SSP Kulgam also handed over the blankets to NoK’s of Martyred Police personals as a mark of respect.

In Pulwama, the event was held at DPL Pulwama which was flagged off by DC Pulwama Shri Gh. Mohd Dar (KAS) accompanied by SP Pulwama Chandan Kohli-IPS.

Large number of people including students, local representatives, Police /CRPF Officers/Officials participated in the programme.

SP Pulwama distributed prizes among the winner and runner up and thanked all the participants for participating and making this a successful event.

In Shopian, the event was also held at District Police Lines Shopian.

In Srinagar, the event started from Radio Kashmir Crossing to Residency Road in which a large number of people from different walks of life participated.

The participants were carrying banners and placards conveying the message of unity, integrity and upholding of security as envisioned by the legendary leader.

In Ganderbal, the event was flagged off by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS and DC Ganderbal Piyush Singla-IAS.

The event started from Manigam Byepass and culminated at Lar in which a large number of young boys and school children participated. Officers/officials of civil administration and Police Department also participated in the event.

At the conclusion of the event, a prize distribution ceremony was held in which cash rewards were distributed amongst three toppers Gulbadin Hikmat Yar, Nisar Ah Dar and Tariq Ah Reshi who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In Budgam, the event started from Railway Station to Naraspora Chowk and back, in which a large number of people including youth of the area participated.

In Handwara, the event started from Chotipora Bypass and culminated at Environmental Hall Handwara.

A lager number of citizens, police and other security force personnel also took pledge to work for unity and integrity of the country.

In Kupwara, the event started from District Police Lines Kupwara to Gujjar Hostel Goose Lola in which large number of students of various schools as well as citizens and other security force personnels participated.

On the conclusion of the event, SSP Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar- IPS addressed the participants and threw light on the significance of this day.

He urged the participants to remain united for security and development of the Nation as a whole.

In Bandipora and Sopore, the event was held at District Police Lines Bandipora and District Police Lines Sopore respectively.
