Dozens of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) activists were detained on Monday during a demonstration against attacks on Kashmiri students studying in various colleges outside the state.
Malik had called for a strike on Tuesday and a sit-in in Lal Chowk today to protest against the ‘growing’ attacks on Kashmiri students.
Led by senior leaders, JKLF activists took out a march from the party headquarters in Maisuma and headed towards Lal Chowk, but a police team intercepted them near Taj Hotel, said the spokesman.
He said dozens of activists were detained by police.(Agencies)
