No fresh attack on Kashmir bound vehicles: DC

Udhampur:Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, has clarified that no fresh incident of attack on Kashmir bound vehicle has been reported along the National Highway. Setting the rumours of fresh attack to rest Dr Shahid maintained that no such incident has been reported after the incident reported on night intervening October 9 and 10. 

 

He added that elaborate security arrangements are in place and deployment along national Highway has been enhanced by the district police.  Teams of policemen in civil clothes are also maintaining vigilance against any attempts to visited the peaceful atmosphere in the district. 

Clarifying the news reports in circulation on social media regarding attack on a Kulgam bound vehicle by miscreants in Udhampur today the DC told that no such incident has occurred or reported in the district however before the attack on Anantnag bound truck the group of youth, already under arrest, had pelted a stone on passenger vehicle Tavera when the passengers escaped unhurt and attack on truck was followed which was in the interior of town on old highway. 

The persons arrested in the incident have been booked in FIR No 368/2015Good u/s 307/435/427/336/337/147/148/149/120-B Rpc 3/5 explosive substance Act and process has been initiated for booking them under Public Safety Act.

Meanwhile, responding to a question on security arrangements it was informed that adequate security arrangements are in place to thwart any such attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere or inflict damage to life and property.

DIG Udhampur-Reasi range is personally monitoring the security deployment and arrangements and also confidence building measures have been taken. 

The support from local people in udhampur is also encouraging and antisocial elements involved in rumour mongering have also been identified to be booked under law in addition to persons arrested for criminal act. 
The DC negated the reports of fresh attack based on which protests were registered in some parts of Kashmir today and informed that he has clarified the matter and factual position  to Deputy Commissioners Kulgam and Anantnag as well.
