NDRF personnel will get Risk and Hardship Allowance: Shah

The government has accepted the demand for Risk and Hardship Allowance for National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said here on Saturday.

This allowance will be at the rate of 40 percent and will benefit 16,000 personnel of the NDRF.

Addressing the Flag-in ceremony of the NDRF’s Second Mountaineering Expedition ‘Vijay’ on Mount Manirang in Himachal Pradesh, Shah said, “I have come here and let me also share a good news. There was a demand for Risk and Hardship Allowance for NDRF personnel for a long time and the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has accepted this demand yesterday”.

He said that now 16,000 personnel of NDRF will get Risk and Hardship Allowance at the rate of 40%.

The Home Minister added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has also decided that a team of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will participate in all outdoor and indoor games in national and international level sports competitions.

He said the entire roadmap for this has been prepared and soon the Government of India will come up with a model for its implementation.

Shah said that the government wants to introduce and stabilise sports as a culture in CAPFs.
