Srinagar: Was the 18-month-old Hiba Jan carrying any gun or stone that he her eyesight was snatched by pellets; was 15-year-old Muskaan a terrorist that her life was snatched by bullets? This was stated by the joint resistance leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Tuesday in a statement issued to GNS.

“India and its viceroy in the form of Governor should remember that they cannot suppress Kashmiri nation’s march to freedom by terror and oppression,” JRL said while condemning the unending “carnage” by Indian forces in nook and corner of Valley.

“We want to ask a question to Indian rulers and their viceroy like Governor in Kashmir that why was the eyesight of 18-month-old baby Hiba Jan snatched by pellets.

Was she a terrorist or stone thrower or even an agitator? We want to ask them about the crime of 15-year-old Muskaan Jan who was gunned down by their forces.

Was she carrying a gun or a stone at the time she was showered with bullets,” JRL asked.

“Indian leaders and their deployed authorities in Jammu Kashmir have unleashed and expedited this reign of terror and massacres in a bid to defeat Kashmiri resistance but they fail to realize that if defeating or intimidating a nation that has resolved to achieve freedom and right to self-determination would have been possible then many nations including India would not have been sovereign countries today,” the leaders said.

“India and its viceroy in the form of Governor should wake up from their daydreaming and realize that India will have to accept the aspirations of the people of Jammu Kashmir, bow before people’s resistance sooner or later and accept the right of self-determination of the people of Jammu Kashmir as it is also in the in the interest of their own nation and people,” JRL said.

Meanwhile, the statement said that JRL leaders and activists along with people staged a peaceful protest demonstration on Tuesday against the “brutal” killing of a 15-year-old innocent girl Muskaan Jaan and firing of pellets upon 18-month-old Hibaa Jan in Shopian.

The leaders and activists gathered at Koker Bazar, Lal Chowk and staged a peaceful protest. They held placards and raised slogans against forces. (GNS)
