Srinagar: Police on Monday claimed to have solved a murder case of a 70-year-old man and arrested three accused persons involved in the crime.
“On 13th of May 2018, Police Post Imamsahib received a written complaint from one person namely Maqbool Bhat resident of Handew Shopian, wherein it was stated that his father namely Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, about 70 years old has been ruthlessly beaten by the accused persons in his house over some property dispute, resulting in injuries to him. The injured was referred to SMHS Hospital from DH Shopian, where he succumbed to his injuries,” a police spokesman said.
After registration of case FIR number 153/2018, Shopian Police took swift action and arrested three accused persons namely Yaseen Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Adil Bhat son of Yaseen Bhat and Irfan Bhat son of Yaseen Bhat, all residents of Handew village, he said.
Initial investigations reveal that the prime motive behind murder was property dispute. Further investigation of the case is going on, he added. (GNS)
