Directs health officials to install drums/bins in hospitals for spared medicines

Shopian | July 24: MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmed Mir Monday took stock of the situation in Shopian district where in he met several delegations and officers of the administration. The MLA gave a patient hearing to
their problems of the people and assured them immediate redressal of their grievances.
In a first of its kind initiative, the MLA Wachi directed health officials to install drums/ bins in hospitals, so that the medicines that remain unused once the patients gets cured are stored in these drums and bins, so that these medicines are later distributed among the poor and needy patients.
“I directed the health officials to install drums and bins as pilot exercise in villages like Wachi, Zainapora, Imam Sahab, Hermain,Kaprin,
Kanjiwular, Turkawangam and will be later on extended to other villages. Many patients after getting cured throw away the spared
medicines. We want them to store these spared medicines in these drums so that it can be given to other needy patients,” he told local news portal.
Mir also directed the officials of PDD, RDD and PHE to effectively streamline the system so that people don’t face any problems. He also told the officials of R&B to speed up macdamisation process in Shopian district.
