Mirwaiz Calls For Unity Among Masses To ‘Resist Military Might’

Srinagar : Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and Jamia Masjid head cleric, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq condemned the frequent restrictions in Srinagar and Jamia Masjid siege that continued for three consecutive weeks.Mirwaiz while addressing a gathering here at Jamia Masjid after three straight weeks here stressed upon unity among masses, saying unity among people can help achieving the goal.

He said that the people should forge unity like they did on Article 35-A issue recently. “JRL has decided to frame a comprehensive policy against the atrocities in Kashmir people from all walks including traders, employees, students and others should come forward in this regard to resist the military might being used by India in Kashmir,” he said.

Mirwaiz said that the people are being suppressed with the military might but “India cannot suppress our voices with military might. They are using the military might here keeping in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections.”

“India doesn’t want to listen to us but are trying to suppress us with military might. We should stand united at this juncture to resist the military might,” he said.

“We also appeal the international human rights bodies to play their role over the HR violations in Kashmir,” he said, adding that Kashmir is a political issue and should be addressed politically. (KNO)
