Srinagar: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has congratulated the winning candidates in Panchayat elections in the valley, especially the candidates of Dooru, Devsar and elsewhere in South Kashmir. JKPCC President expressed satisfaction over the participation of people in panchayat elections.
Commenting on the 6th phase of Panchayat elections that has come to an end today, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President G.A. Mir has said that despite the unfavorable situation prevailing in the valley the candidates participated in the electoral process to ensure development of their respective areas and people as well.
Mir also thanked the people for exercising their franchise in these Elections, hailing them for their courage and said people have expressed their confidence in the democratic process by participating in Panchayat elections in the state.
Congress will do everything to strengthen the democratic Institutions and it will fight against the elements eroding the authority of democratic Institutions to serve their vested interests, he added and appreciated the role of common people who came out and voted for their candidates despite braving the brunt of prevailing situation in the valley.(CNS)
