Militants Exchange Fire With Forces In Shopian; Internet Suspended

Srinagar: Militants on Monday morning exchanged fire with the government forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir.

Reports said that a brief exchange of fire took place in Sangran Imam Sahib area of the district during a search operation launched by the forces around 3 am.

They said that the militants escaped after exchanging fire with the forces.

Meanwhile, a police official while confirming the shootout said that a search operation is underway in the area to nab the militants.

Internet was suspended as soon as the searches were undertaken.
