Srinagar: Terming the bloodshed of Jammu Muslims on November 6 , 1947 at the hands of RSS and Bajrangdal fanatics as a ‘big national tragedy’, Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has appealed people to hold solidarity march everywhere in the Valley on Friday and held peaceful protest demonstration after congregational prayers against the strict restriction, nocturnal raids and detention of hundreds of pro-freedom leaders, activists, students and common people.

In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani while appealing people to make the Jamia solidarity march a success program, said that the leadership at the Jamia Masjid Srinagar will shed light over the sacrifices of the Jammu Muslims and will pass some important directions to the people regarding the proposed grand “Million March” which is going to be held on 7th November. Geelani said that the “Million March” program of 7 November at TRC Srinagar will be an open and clear message to those people who mercilessly massacred lakhs of innocent and unarmed Muslims in Jammu in 1947. He said that the shameful and inhuman incident of 1947 is a most brutal episode of the human history in which the people related to the Sangh Parivar like RSS, Bajrangdal, Shin Sena, BJP, and VHP butchered 5 lakh innocent human beings in Jammu division of Jammu & Kashmir just for being Muslims. While giving details of the painful incident of Jammu Massacre in 1947, Hurriyat (G) Chairman said that on 5th November 1947 a government announcement was made that whoever is desirous to move to Pakistan, he will assemble at police line Jammu and they will be sent to Pakistan under government protection. After this announcement the Muslims along with their families and other belongings gathered at the said location where from they were flocked in trucks and Lories. At reaching Samba the Muslims were queued in a mountain pass and after separating young and beautiful females, the Hindu communal people pumped volleys of bullets into their bodies. Geelani said that about 25 thousand Muslim women were abducted by the Hindu extremists and their whereabouts are still not known and thousands of other women were gang raped there. The brutal massacre of innocent Muslims was again and again repeated in Miran Sahab, Domel, Kathua, Jivan Shah, Reasi, Akhnoor, Udhampur and Jammu and this process continued for two entire months. Geelani said that the Jammu massacre of innocent Muslims is a stigma on the so-called democratic face of India and a most inhuman episode of the human history. He said that the sacrifices of the Jammu Muslims in 1947 are a “bedrock for our freedom struggle against the Indian military occupation and we can never ignore these supreme sacrifices which are still fresh and alive in our hearts and minds”.

While lashing out at Mufti Sayeed and his party PDP, Geelani said that the hands who killed lakhs of innocent Muslims and raped thousands of Muslim women in Jammu in 1947 are today not only being welcomed in Kashmir but the so-called Muslim CM of Jammu & Kashmir Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is also heaping praises over those murderers who know nothing about the humanity. “It is the height of greediness and the lust of power which Mufti sahab has shown and by this he proved himself a worst opportunist pro-Indian politician the Kashmiris have ever seen,” he said.

While addressing the Muslims of the Jammu region, the pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that we are fully aware of your conditions that how terrible situations are you facing in the presence of RSS, Shiv Saniks, Bajrangdal, VHP and 28 thousand armed VDC terrorists. He assured the Muslim brethren of Jammu division that the Kashmiri people will never leave you alone and on the mercy of these communal and fascist forces of India. Geelani sahab however appealed the Jammu Muslims to be united against the communal and fanatic people of India and don’t get divided on any name. while paying rich tributes to the 1947 martyrs of Jammu, Geelani said that the best way of paying homage to our martyrs is to make the proposed “Million March” a big success program and send a clear message to Narandra Modi and the international community that Kashmiris are demanding their just and democratic rights from last 68 years and they will continue to do that till the presence of a single Indian solider in Jammu & Kashmir. Geelani appealed all the Immams and Islamic scholars to aware the general public in their Friday sermons about the wicked designs of the communal people of India and the importance of the scheduled “Million March” program of 7 November at TRC ground Srinagar.
