Srinagar: Police on Tuesday lodged an FIR following a complaint by PDP leader Waheed Para that he was attacked by unknown persons in Budgam on Monday.

Police sources told GNS that the complaint was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth president Waheed Parra on Tuesday in police station Budgam.

According to the complaint, police sources said, Para claimed to have escaped a life bid in Hanjan Mamat – barely one kilometer from Budgam town after his bulletproof vehicle was attacked by bike-borne gunmen on Monday late afternoon.

Acting upon the complaint, the police filed a case and launched investigations to ascertain the facts.

According to sources, neither the people of the area nor any police agency reported about the firing incident which according to the PDP leader took place.

A senior police officer also confirmed that following a complaint by the PDP leader, police registered a case.

“We have taken cognizance of the complaint and investigations will reveal what actually happened,” he said.

Reports said that Parra has been asked by the Governor-led administration to vacate the official accommodation here.

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked the government to ensure all unauthorized occupants in government bungalows and other accommodations are evicted and file the compliance report by the first week of next month. (GNS)
