JKLF Protests Against Ongoing Killings

Srinagar: “Brutal assassination of political leaders and activists like Mir Hafizullah and an unrelenting spree of killings of young Kashmiris across the valley amounts to the annihilation of an entire generation,” said the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday.

He said Delhi’s killing machine has gone out of control in Kashmir but no one in the international community seems to bother or take a serious note of it.

Malik has in a statement issued to GNS said forces have unleashed a rampage against Kashmiris as crackdowns, killings, beating, torturing and humiliating common people, incarcerating political activists, leaders and students and other oppressive measures have been expedited in recent months and all this is being done to suppress democratic voices of Kashmiris, which is highly condemnable.

Terming the recent shifting of Kashmiri detainees as most autocratic and atrocious act, JKLF chairman said that “terrorizing, tormenting and torturing inmates and their families” is an illegal, obnoxious and most reprehensible act.

Meanwhile, JKLF has paid tributes to militants Azad Ahmad Malik, Basit Mir, Firdous Ahmad, Shahid Malik, Younis Shafi and Aatif Ahmad killed today at Bijbehara Anantnag.

Paying homage to the slain, JKLF said that the blood of Kashmiris has been turned cheap and is being spilled ruthlessly.

A JKLF delegation comprising Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Ishaaq Ganie Mushtaq Ahmad Kuchay and Nazir Ahmad Khan participated in the funeral prayers of the slain militants.

The delegation met with the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with them. They also prayed for the early recovery of those injured.

As per JRL programme, JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest against the killing of Mir Hafizullah, killing of more young Kashmiris in Bijbihara and “unrelenting oppression”.

They also condemned the continued detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, and said he is being arrested and incarcerated every now and then which has badly affected his heath. (GNS)
