JKLF Chief Malik Pays Tribute To Dr Farooq Haider

Srinagar: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Saturday paid tributes to Dr Farooq Haider on his anniversary terming him a “legend who till his last breath stood wedded to the cause of freedom”.

“He (Dr Haider) was a man with a mission, a selfless soul and dedicated to the core with a dream of seeing Kashmir free.  Present struggle for freedom is formulated and practiced by sons of soil like Dr Farooq Haider and thus no power on earth can defeat or weaken it,” Malik said in a statement issued to GNS.

Dr Farooq Haider according to statement passed away on 6 October 2009 at Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

“Dr Sahib was in himself a revolution, an ideology and a pious soul. Being a close associate of father of Kashmiri nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt and one of the pioneers of present struggle for freedom, late doctor sahib had to take enormous hardships and turmoil,” Malik said.

“His (Dr Haider’s) clinic located at Sadder, Rawalpindi which was a shelter for every homeless, deprived and ailing Kashmiri, was attacked and he narrowly escaped the attack,” JKLF chairman said.

While praying for the heavenly abode of the “great leader”, JKLF chairman said “this nation is indebted to souls like Dr Farooq Haider and we all today pray to Allah Almighty to elevate his place in Jannah”. (GNS)
