Intl Day against Drug Abuse: J&K Police conduct raids on hotspot beds

On the eve of International Day against Drug Abuse, Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out simultaneous raids on the hotspot beds of the Jammu district on Monday.

As per the official communiqu?, Jammu Police initiated strict action against defaulters under “Operation Sanjeevani” in a drive against drug peddlers and addicts as well as suppliers.

In an operation, a surprise check at drug hotspot areas like Resham Ghar Colony, Rajpura Mangotrian, Toph Sherkhania, Christian Colony, Dogra Hall, Rehari, Circular Road, Gujjar Nagar, and Prem Nagar was carried out simultaneously in order to eradicate the menace of illegal drug peddling, smuggling, addiction, etc. from society.

Intensive checking of pedestrians and vehicles was also carried out, and the drive will continue under Operation Sanjeevani, according to the handout read out.
