17 Killed, 10 Injured, Vyas Oversees Treatment Arrangement To 10 Injured

Srinagar:  Seventeen persons have died and ten others were Injured, two of them critically in Kishtwar mishap, Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas told GNS on Friday.

He said that free treatment is being provided to injured who were airlifted to Government Medical College Jammu from Kishtwar even as he expressed deep shock on behalf of the governor over the tragic mishap which occurred in the mountainous Kishtwar district early on Friday.

“I visited hospital myself and enquired the condition of all the injured in GMC and I reviewed the treatment arrangements,” Vyas said.

17 deaths have taken place in the tragic mishap. 10 are injured and two among them are critical, he said.

I inspected Government Medical College (GMC) and on behalf of the governor, I expressed deep shock and grief and sympathies with the bereaved families, Vyas said.

“I also directed the administration that keep volunteers attached with everyone injured patient as no attendant was with them because they had to be quickly airlifted,” Vyas said.

“I have also given on spot directions to the hospital authorities that free treatment be given to every injured and support to all the family members who will come. And I personally inspected each and every patient to see the proper medical care,” Vyas added.

Early on Friday, a mini-bus (JK17-0663) skidded off the road and plunged into over 300 ft deep into Chenab river at Tahtgan area near Kudiyapul in Thakrie area of Bhandarkot leading to 17 deaths and injured to ten others. (GNS)
