As the social media campaign calling to boycott the Chinese goods gains momentum, Beijing’s media said that products manufactured by Indian firms cannot compete with those of the China.
In a straight-forward op-ed, Chinese daily Global Times Wednesday said that New Delhi can only ‘bark’ and do nothing about the growing trade deficit between two countries.
“Indian manufacturing cannot compete at all with Chinese products, for various reasons,” it reads.
“There has been a lot of talk recently in the Indian media as well as on social media about boycotting Chinese products. It’s just rabble rousing,” it further reads.
The article also described Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s pet project “Make in India” as “impractical”.
