Hizb Posters Warn Those Participating In Polls, Police Takes Cognizance

Srinagar: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has asked people to stay away from the forthcoming ULB and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir while warning “those becoming part of the electoral process”.

Hizb has issued a poster in north Kashmir which is signed by its district commander Kupwara. The posters according to reports appeared in some parts of Kupwara and Lolab.

“Nobody will be allowed to play with the blood of martyrs. As such, anybody who will, intentionally or unintentionally, become part of the elections will be killed,” the poster reads.

“Don’t think mujahideen are not present everywhere. Alhamdulillah, Mujahideen can carry out their activities everywhere,” the Hizb warned.

The outfit termed it unfortunate that “while on one hand, our nation is rendering invaluable sacrifices, and on the other hand, some of our own people are becoming traitors and are exploiting their own poor and suppressed people by collaborating with India”.

Hizb said Government of India exploits the elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the international by saying there are just a handful of people who are misled while the rest have faith in the Constitution of India.

A police officer said that cognizance has been taken with regard to the incident.

A senior government official said that security arrangements have been put in place and poll process would be completed. (GNS)
