Srinagar Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has asked the Special Police Officers (SPOs) to resign and find some other means to earn livelihood else “be ready to risk your life and of your families”.
Hizb has issued a poster saying: “there would be no further warning as we have tolerated enough”.
“Don’t even exploit our patience,” the militant commander warned through the poster signed by Hizb’s district commander Kupwara.
The outfit has also threatened to kill “anybody from any profession who creates hurdles in our way”.
“We have list of all those persons working for traitor politicians and Indian agencies,” the poster read, adding, “ India has created a civil war in Kashmir and wants us to fight among ourselves. For this, it has been seeking services of JKP and SPOs to crush the freedom movement.”
The outfit said that Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo had conveyed to SPOs to choose their way. “But now, we have, after a thorough deliberation, decided not to let our youth sell their faith for petty monetary benefits. For the last 6 months, we tried our best to make our SPO brothers understand as to how they are being exploited for just 5000 rupees to work against Islam and movement,” it said.
“We have proof and confessional statements wherein these SPO brothers admitted that they were made to work against movement,” the Hizb district commander said. Similar posts also surfaced in Pulwama.
A police officer told GNS that cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation taken up. (GNS)
