Srinagar:APHC (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said if any adverse Decision comes from the Supreme Court of India on August 27on Article 35-A, a mass agitation will be launched forthwith.

According to GNS, Mirwaiz while addressing the Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, said that people are mentally and physically ready to hit the streets in such a case.

“The people and leadership are geared up to protest and defend it at every cost as it is a matter of our very existence,” he said.

Mirwaiz said that mobilization at all level including at the grassroots level of Masjid and mohalla committees needs to be undertaken to launch a mass agitation with full force which is being done.

He said every person man or woman has to play his role and be ready to defend their very existence.

Strongly denouncing the fresh notices issued to Syed Ali Geelani and Muhammad Yasin Malik by the Enforcement Directorate, APHC (M) chairman said these ploys have outlived their effectiveness and people of J&K are well aware of the motive behind them “which is to intimidate and malign the leadership”. “It is naive to think that leadership can be pressurized by it or will give up leading the struggle,” he said.

“Last year, NIA was used to book resistance leaders and activists in fake and fabricated cases who are since then lodged in notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi under sub-human conditions and now ED is used as a fresh tool against the resistance leadership for this purpose,” he said.

Mirwaiz strongly condemned the nocturnal raids in various parts of Kashmir especially in south Kashmir where frequent search operations have become a routine affair.

“The people of Kashmir have shown their resilient metal in face of severe repression against them by Indian forces and New Delhi should by now realize there is no way repression will cow us down or make us accept subjugation. The struggle for achieving the right of self-determination will continue until our just goal is achieved,” he said.

Mirwaiz also urged people to observe Eid-ul Azha with austerity and to reach out to poor and destitute to ensure their participation the festival of sacrifices.

Mirwaiz announced that Eid-ul-Azha prayers will be offered at 9 am at Eidgah grounds and Majlis waz or tableeg will commence from 8 am. He appealed to people to donate the hides of sacrificial animals to Anjuman-e-Nusratul Islam.

Meanwhile, a protest rally was taken out at Jamia Masjid against the “assault” on the state subject law and the “ill-treatment” meted out to Kashmiri prisoners lodged in different jails in and outside Kashmir, the statement said. (GNS) Decision Decision Decision Decision
