Civilian Death Toll Mounts To Seven In Kulgam

Srinagar: With the death of another teenager, the death toll of civilians has risen to seven in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
Official sources has identified the teenager civilian as Auqib Ahmad Sheikh son of Gul Mohd of Makhanpora, Kulgam.
They said that Auqib had died near the encounter site and was among initial casualties.
With his death, the civilian killing toll has risen to seven in Kulgam where three local militants were killed and soldiers were injured in a gunfight at Laroo village.
The civilians died mostly in blast near the encounter site while others were killed in live ammunition used by the government forces to disperse the protesters.
The  encounter broke out after a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Laroo village wee hours on Sunday. (GNS)
