Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday paid tributes to slain Pulwama youth Sameer Ahmad Bhat @Tiger, Aaqib Ahmad Wani and teenager Shahid Ahmad Bhat.

“Our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation and are putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honour these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end,” Geelani said in a statement issued to GNS.

Geelani in his telephonic address to mourners at Sameer Baht’s funeral said our youth are sacrificing their present for the betterment of our tomorrow.

“We should never barter their sacrifices for petty material gains like employment and development and never should we extend our support to those showering bullets and pellets,” he said and in his address urged people to boycott upcoming elections saying it provides Indian leadership opportunity to mislead the world community.

“Those few people who vote in elections were not only committing an act of treason, their actions also act as oxygen for the Indian occupation of Kashmir. We need to be aware of this and we are duty bound to safe guard their sacrifices and refrain from such activities which may prove counterproductive for our movement,” Hurriyat (G) chairman said, adding, “Any flaw or any type of support to puppets is misrepresented in international forums by Delhi.”

Geelani while referring to New Delhi and its “henchmen” in state said that Indian leadership is suffering from power of arrogance and is carrying “massacre” and bloodshed in state.

In his address to mourners, Geelani asked them to repose faith in Almighty Allah and follow mission with dedication and avoid all differences. (GNS)
