Srinagar: Much to the surprise of everyone, especially Journalists, Inspector General of Police Traffic Jammu Kashmir, Basant Rath emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar without any security.
Rath who is popular among youth for his frank assertions and unpredictable behavior alighted from a black Scorpio in Press Enclave Srinagar during afternoon hours. He was not accompanied by any security official.
After strolling here and there, one of the journalists asked him why an IGP rank officer is roaming without any security and that too in volatile Kashmir, Rath expectedly raised his finger towards skies saying that ‘God is his security.’
Rath after interacting with a couple of journalists visited a media house to meet his journalist friend.
Journalists were more surprised when Basant Rath rode the bi-cycle of his journalist friend to reach his destination. His driver followed him while the pedestrians were all amused to see Basant Rath riding on green bi-cycle on busy Residency Road. (CNS)
