Takes stock of healthcare post quake

 

SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Ms Asiea Naqash today visited G. B. Panth, Pediatric Hospital at Sonawar and took stock of healthcare being provided post quake.

The Minister visited various wards of the hospital and interacted with patients and their attendants. During her visit the Minister was apprised about the panic situation arisen at the hospital due to yesterday’s earthquake and response of the hospital administration during and after the event. Patients expressed satisfaction with healthcare facilities in the hospital.

While speaking on the occasion, with regard to provision of basic healthcare to pediatric age group, the Minister said that there is also need to strengthen grass root level health programmes viz the school health programme aimed to detect presence and incidence of a disease among the children at an early stage, so that diagnosis and treatment for the same could become easier.

The Minister instructed the authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital premises. She also directed for ensuring provision of round the clock treatment to children at the hospital.
