Srinagar:  Panthers Party patron Prof Bhim Singh and his associated Saturday faced embarrassment after they were confronted by the families of disappeared persons who accused them of aiding India and showing cold response over the grave issue.

Eyewitnesses told that Bhim Singh along with some of his associated visited NYC volunteers who are on hunger strike at Pratap Park Srinagar. Before leaving the venue, Singh approached the families of disappeared persons who had organized a silent protest under the banner of Association of Families of Disappeared Persons (APDP) in the same park.

He was confronted by protesters who asked him to leave the spot. Amid pro freedom slogans, President APDP Parveena Ahangar accused Singh of maintaining criminal silence over the enforced disappearances of Kashmiri youth. “You are an Indian and you support India. You never talked about enforced disappearances in Kashmir. You are a lawyer, did you bother and dare to raise the issue in Supreme Court,” Anger shouted at him while Singh assured that he will take up the matter with the Supreme Court of India.

A few activists from a particular separatist group tried to manhandle two activists of Panthers Party, however, they were stopped by other pro-freedom activists. Singh left the spot in a hurry. (CNS)
