Amit Shah Meets Ladakh Representatives

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today met public representatives of Ladakh and discussed with them issues relating to the union territory, officials in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.

During the meeting, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State (MoS), Home G Kishan Reddy, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Arvind Kumar were also present.

“Union Home Minister @AmitShah met with former MP Thupstan Chhewang, former MP Thiksay Rinpoche, former Minister Chering Dorjay Lakrook & other public representatives of Union Territory of Ladakh in New Delhi,” Shah’s office said in a Twitter post.

A Home Ministry official said several issues and demands were discussed at the meeting.

The meeting comes amidst the continuing stand-off between the Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) along the 3,400 km-long Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.
