Two men were thrashed allegedly by CRPF personnel in Habakdal area of the city Wednesday evening and their car was also smashed by the paramilitary forces.
Owais Ahmad, a resident of Habakadal said that his maternal uncle, Fida Hussain Tak and brother, Abid Ahmad were beaten by the CRPF men deployed in the area this evening, and their car was smashed by them.
“MY uncle has received severe head injuries due to thrashing by CRPF and he was admitted in SMHS hospital for treatment,” Owais said.
He said that his uncle and brother were coming back to home in the evening and suddenly CRPF men went berserk and beat them up. They also damaged the car, he said.
Reports said that stone pelting was going on in the area when the two men were thrashed.
PRO CRPF Ashish Kumar Jha told media that the allegations leveled on their personnel are “baseless”.
“I talked to the commandant of that area, and he said no such incident happened in his area,” Jha said. (Agencies)
