Sopore : The police in north Kashmirs Sopore town on Monday inaugurated women’s cell.
It is has been established in the main police station of Sopore town.
The cell was inauguration by SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta, making it the first of its kind in the police district Sopore.
While talking the the media Mehta said that the crime especially domestic violence against women has grown from last some years but such crimes get reported less.
“So in an effort to act against such kind of crimes we have established the women’s cell. We ensure that the victim must feel comfortable to report any crime she is facing,” he said.
“The staff will try to work with dedication to redress the grievances of women victims in Sopore,” he said.
