Shutdown continues in Kashmir Valley, internet remains suspended also

Srinagar: One more teenager succumbed to injuries taking the civilian death toll in Shopian firing allegedly by government forces to six.

Family and medical sources confirmed to GNS that the 17-year-old identified as Sufail Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Dachoo village of Nagbal, Shopian succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital here.

Sufail had suffered bullet wounds in the abdomen in government forces action near encounter site at Badigam where five civilian and as many militants including Hizb’s top commander and Burhan Wani’s close associate Sadam Padder and Kashmir University’s assistant professor Dr Mohammad Rafi Bhat were killed on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown continued in Kashmir Valley on the third straight day while in south Kashmir parts it entered the 7th day. Internet services remained snapped for the third consecutive day in Srinagar along with south Kashmir districts and central Kashmir’s Ganderbal. (GNS)
