The right wing Hindu activists from India's western State of Maharashtra on Friday set a 48-hour deadline for all Pakistani artists working in India to immediately leave the country.
“We gave a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out,” Indian Express quoted Amey Khopkar as saying.

Khopkar belongs to the film workers association of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chitrapat Sena.
According to the news report, Khopkar threatened to beat up Pakistani artists, including those who cast them in their productions.
“Pakistani kalakaar toh maar khaayenge hi, saath mein jo yahan producer/director hain unko bhi peetenge (Paksitani artists will be beaten up and so will the producers and directors),” he said.

This comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after an attack on a military base in north Kashmir's Uri left 18 soldiers dead.
