London: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today presented British Prime Minister David Cameron a specially handcrafted pair of bookends made of wood, marble and silver, which have verses from the Bhagavad Gita etched on them.

The centerpiece of each of these bookends is a silver bell, an object of rich symbolism relating to inner wisdom and tidings, which has a verse from the Bhagavad Gita etched in Sanskrit, along with its English meaning along the inside rim.

For Cameron's wife, Samantha Cameron, Prime Minister Modi presented Kerala's Aranmula metal mirror and some Pashmina stoles.

Prime Minister Modi also presented his British counterpart a book titled 'Indian Voices of the Great War' by David Omissi.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in the United Kingdom yesterday on a three day visit. He has since had delegation-level talks, addressed the British Parliament and the City of London, met representatives of the Sikh community and paid homage before a statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

He will be having another round of talks today with British Prime Minister David Cameron, both in London and at Chequers, his weekend retreat, besides having lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and addressing the Indian Diaspora at the Wembley Stadium.

He will also meet members of the House of Lords and Members of Parliament and attend a reception hosted by Indian High Commissioner Rajan Mathai in London. (ANI)
