Ganderbal: Two Kashmiri Pandit families who recently returned to Kashmir to their native place Tuesday accused property dealers of harassment and said that despite getting support and affection from the locals, few property dealers are hell-bent to vacate them from their ancestral land.

The two Kashmiri Pandit brother Rajendar Bhan and Dalip Bhan sons of Dawarka Nath Bhan from Manigam Laar area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district told CNS that some property dealers spray some poisonous substances on the their standing paddy crops cultivated by them and tried to destroy the crops. They alleged that these property dealers have an eagle eye on their plots which are on the crossing of Manigam Bypass Road.

Accusing Police of inaction, these two Pandit brothers said the matter did not stop here but these property dealers during the dead of September 10 night cut the whole crop and took it away. “Till date no FIR has been lodged by local Police nor any action taken  neither by the local Revenue Department nor by the Agricultural Department,” they said.

The Bhan family alleged that it seems that local administration is hand in glove with these property dealers who behave as goons. “The local administration has failed to protect us and we are feeling insecure,” they said.

They appealed to higher authorities to look into the matter and deliver justice to them. (CNS)
