Geelani on payroll want to spread violence: Bali Bhagat

Srinagar: The Bhartiya Janta Party Tuesday said that Narendra Modi government is ready to engage separatist leaders in a dialogue process under the Indian constitution and but said that country’s sovereignty cannot be compromised.

“New Delhi is ready to talk to anybody including separatist leaders who want to function within the framework of India’s Constitution and sovereignty. These are two issues with which there can be no compromise,” BJP leader and Minister for, Forest, Bali Bhagat told KNS.

The Minister replied when he was asked whether the Prime Minister on his visit to Kashmir will invited the separatist leaders for a dialogue.

Regarding the Million March call given by the Syeed Ali Shah Geelani, he said, “Geelani should first clarify whether he has given this call to welcome the PM or against his visit.  “Let Geelani told people what is the million march. It seems that he want to welcome the Prime Minister of India through this march,” the minister said.

When asked that several quarters have raised the ante over the delay in rehabilitating flood victims and the slow pace of development works, Bhaghat said positive results would be visible on November 7.

The Minister also slammed the separatists for “provoking” youth to participate in anti-India rallies. “Separatist leaders including Syeed Ali Geelani are trying to provoke the masses of Kashmir. Separatists first misled the youth by handing over gun to them and now they are trying to give them Pakistani flags,” he said.

The BJP minister claimed that separatists including Syeed Ali Shah Geelani are on the payrolls of several countries. We have reports that these separatist leaders have kept huge money in the banks outside the country.  I can say that the agenda of separatists is to spread violence for which they get their stipend enhanced,” the minister said and added that their mentors have asked them to intensify their activities if they want to receive the hefty pay packets every month,” he added.
