“PM’s visit will endanger both parties”
Srinagar: Lashing out at its opposition National Conference and Congress unit of State, Bhartiya Janata party Thursday said that these parties have started hate campaigns against Prime Minister Narendra Modi before his visit to Valley on November 7.
“The chosen modus operandi of both the NC and Congress to disrupt the Prime Minister’s visit is a hate campaign against him and the fact that they are doing it only in Kashmir says a lot about who is working day and night for polarization in the state,” BJP state spokesperson, Arun Gupta, told KNS.
Gupta said that a responsible opposition in the system of democracy is meant to question the inefficacy of the government.
“Once the opposition takes the role of spreading hate, you can safely say that they have lost the sense of direction. Sheikh Abdullah for instance talked of secularism; the heirs are talking about Kashmir’s future with Pakistan,” he said.
The BJP leader said that for the last fifty years Jammu and Kashmir has not been able to stand back on its feet, courtesy – a largely mismanaged and directionless, National Conference and Congress.
“NC for that matter can be credited for degeneracy of Jammu and Kashmir over six decades as the state stands at the 29th rank nationally for ease of doing business,” he said.
He added that BJP along with PDP is working to minimize this gap and it is regrettable that the opposition, specifically the NC, has been igniting hate in Kashmir now.
On PM’s visit, Gupta said the Prime Minister is visiting the state to clear the threat of a dark future and his visit will endanger the existence of both these parties.
“PM’s visit has deeply unsettled the National Conference as well as its former ally, Congress. They know well that if things improve, their existence in the state will be endangered. Sixty-seven years of failure by the NC is a lot of dirt that needs clearing and the BJP-PDP are working hard to clean it,” he added. (KNS)
