NC Calls Opposition Meet,May Approach President Of India

omarWith situation continuing to deteriorate in Kashmir, opposition political parties would meet here  today to discuss unabated civilian killings by forces and ask New Delhi and State Government to come up with a “political plan” to address the ongoing unrest.

The meeting, called by National Conference’s working President Omar Abdullah, is scheduled at the residence of the party patron and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.The meeting comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an All-Party Meeting in New Delhi to find a way for restoring normalcy in Kashmir.

The NC-called meeting is scheduled to be attended by Congress, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Chief Hakeem Muhammad Yasin, State Chairman of CPI-M, MY Targami, Democratic Nationalist Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir and Awami Ittehad Party leader, Er Rashid.
