National Conference Presents Memorandum To Governor, Seeks Rollback Of NFSA

A National Conference leader on Thursday presented a memorandum to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra to seek rollback of the controversial National Food Security Act (NFSA) implemented recently in the state.

“National Conference Provincial President Kashmir, Nasi2016_3$largeimg210_Mar_2016_203305343r Aslam Wani on Thursday called on Shri N. N. Vohra, the Governor of J&K and presented a memorandum on behalf of the party seeking the rollback of the National Food Security Act from the State in its current form,” said a statement issued by the party here today.

The memorandum also sought redressal of various public grievances and the resumption of work on various stalled developmental works started during the previous NC-Congress Government.

“The NC Provincial President drew the attention of the Governor towards protests against NFSA in every nook and corner of the State and said the Act had deprived lakhs of souls of the basic allocation of rations and needed to be rolled back in its current form,” said the statement.(Agencies)
