Mufti Arrives in Chennai, to Attend UEF Trade Summit

To meet top industrialists, visit IT Park

CMCHENNAI: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Friday arrived here on a three-day official visit to the southern State.

During his stay in the southern metropolis, he is scheduled to attend United Economic Forum (UEF) Trade Summit-2015, beginning tomorrow, where he is one of the high-profile guest speakers.

The Chief Minister is also slated to meet top IT industrialists later this evening. He will also visit IT Park and tour Mahindra World City after participating in UEF summit tomorrow.

Earlier, on his arrival in Bhopal enroute Chennai, Mufti Sayeed, was given a ceremonial reception at the Bhopal airport by his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

After exchanging pleasantries, Mufti Sayeed thanked the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister for his kind gesture.

Later, the Chief Minister left for State Guest House for a brief stay before flying to Tamil Nadu capital for an official visit.

During his visit to Mumbai earlier this month, Mufti Sayeed had met various business tycoons to provide impetus to investment in sectors including industry, power and telecommunications in J&K. In one of his meetings with Arun Nanda of Mahindra & Mahindra Group, besides several proposals, the Chief Minister had discussed the possibility of setting up two IT Parks in J&K on pattern of the one set up Chennai.

On his concluding day of the visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to chair the convocation function at S. A. K. Arabic College at Pannur, where he will also distribute degrees amongst pass out graduates.
