In a shocking incident police on Monday claimed to have solved a blind murder case by arresting wife and her paramour over the charges of conspiring 35-year-old man’s murder.
“On 03-07-2016 Police Station Hajin received information about a body of Fayaz Ahmad Dar (35) S/O Mohammad Maqbool Dar R/O Vijpara Hajin is lying in bathroom of his residential house. Police party rushed to the spot and the body was taken to the police custody and the circumstantial evidence pointed out towards murder”, a senior police officer told news agency GNS.
Accordingly a case under FIR No. 42/2016 u/s 302 RPC was registered and launched further investigations into the case, SSP said.
“The fresh injury marks were found on his neck and blood was oozing from his mouth which indicated that the said person has been murdered by some unknown person”.
Following the murder, a Special Investigation team (SIT) headed by SDPO Sumbal Rashid Akbar assisted by SHO P/S Hajin Parvaiz Ahmad was formed under the overall supervision of SSP Bandipora Mumtaz Ahmad to crack the case at an earliest, the officer said.
During the course of investigation deceased’s wife namely Zamrooda Begium was questioned about the murder of her husband, she initially denied having any knowledge about the incident, the officer said.
She was further questioned about her phone number and in reply she stated that she does not have any mobile phone from last two years. But the claim was contested by her teenage children, who stated that their mother Zamrooda has one mobile phone in possession and is using the same covertly, the officer said. “Police grew suspicious of her involvement in the crime due to misleading details of Zamrooda Begium”.
The investigation further revealed that the deceased had doubts on her wife of having illegal relationship with one Showkat Ahmad Bhat S/o Asadullah R/O Kumina Baharabad Hajin due to which some some differences had developed in their wedlock, the officer said. Accordingly the suspect Showkat was brought into police custody for questioning. During the interrogation he disclosed that he had illegal affairs with the wife of the deceased and had grown close to each other from the past few years, the officer said.
“Zamrooda wife of deceased Fayaz Dar and Showkat had hatched a criminal conspiracy about murder of Fayaz Dar. On the night of 02-07-2016, Zamrooda and Showkat communicated on phone about 19:30 hours, Zamrooda asked her boyfriend to come her house to kill her husband Fayaz Dar”.
At about 2230 hours Zamrooda had kept the window of the room open to let Showkat in. They went to the room of deceased and killed him while he was in a deep asleep, the officer said.
Accused Showkat held deceased tightly by his hands and sat on his chest while as Zamrooda had pressed tightly on neck until his last breath, the officer said. (GNS)
