Lahore To Delhi Dosti Bus Service Suspended As Caste Violence Engulfs India

1 min read

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) suspended on Sunday the Dosti Bus service, which runs between Lahore and Delhi after caste violence engulfed the Indian state of Haryana.

According to Express News, manager of the bus service said 20 passengers had booked seats to travel to Delhi, who have now been notified about the postponement.

At least ten people have so far died in caste protests in the north Indian state.

The Jat caste is leading the protests, demanding quotas for government jobs and university placements, saying they are struggling to find employment and education opportunities despite India’s strong economic growth.(Agencies)
