A soldier who was critically injured in an encounter with militants in north Kashmir’s Drugmulla area yesterday has succumbed to injuries in a hospital today, an army spokesperson informed.

Identified as, Naik Gawade Pandurang Mahadev, the soldier, spokesperson informed, was part of the column which initially located and engaged the hiding militants, leading to killing of all five militants.

“Mortal remains of the soldier will be flown to his village in Sindudurg District of Maharashtra after necessary formalities,” the spokesperson said.(Agencies)
